- "He trained two Padawans, the most recent being Dama Montalvo here."
- ―Mace Windu, at Vookto's funeral regarding his Padawans
A Padawan was apprenticed to the Duros Jedi Master Cei Vookto before the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1] In 21.77 BBY,[2] Vookto sacrificed himself to ensure his troops' survival during the fighting on the planet Lianna, which ended with a Republic victory. During the Duros Jedi's funeral pyre—which was attended by Masters Yoda, Mace Windu, Tholme, Quinlan Vos, and Vookto's latest Padawan, Dama Montalvo—Vookto's first Padawan was mentioned by Windu.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Cei Vookto's first Padawan's only mention, thus far, in the Star Wars canon came in the comic book Jedi: Mace Windu, which was released on February 26, 2003 and written by John Ostrander. The character received an indirect mention in the comic.
