"I've been acting in Australia since I was about eight, and have done many films. Because I had one day on Star Wars, though, suddenly every single interview I was doing in Australia at the time was about, 'how does it feel to be in Star Wars?' The media were very excited about it here, and it was the thing I was talking about in every interview, regardless what I was promoting at the time."

Claudia Karvan (born May 19, 1972) played Sola Naberrie in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, although her scenes from Episode II did not make the final cut of the film.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Karvan was born in Sydney, Australia and attended SCEGGS Darlinghurst. When she was 8, she lived in Bali for a year with her family. After returning from Bali, they moved to King's Cross.

She appeared in several TV series, including Fallen Angels, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World, Farscape, Spirited, and Puberty Blues, but she is best known for her roles in The Secret Life of Us and Love My Way.

During her career, Karvan won several Australian Film Institute Awards for her roles in G.P. and Love My Way. As a producer of Love My Way, she also earned AFI Awards for Best Television Drama Series in 2005 and the two subsequent years. In film, she received the Australian Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress for The Heartbreak Kid in 1993 and the Palm Springs Short Film Festival Audience Favorite Award in 1998 for Two Girls and a Baby.

Karvan appeared with Star Wars co-star Wayne Pygram (Wilhuff Tarkin in Episode III) in the short-lived TV series The Last Resort. She shared screen with Jack Thompson (Cliegg Lars) in the 2001 TV movie My Brother Jack. In The Secret Life of Us, her father was played by Graeme Blundell (Ruwee Naberrie) in one episode. One of her castmates in the show was Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars in Episodes II and III). They worked together again in the stop motion film $9.99, along with Leeanna Walsman (Zam Wesell). Karvan also played with Bruce Spence (Tion Medon) in the 2006 comedy film Aquamarine, and alongside Jay Laga'aia (Captain Typho) in the 1998 TV miniseries The Violent Earth and the 2009 horror film Daybreakers.
