- "Beware; the dark side offers a quick and easy path, but the destination is not what it seems."
- ―Ven-Mah Tyrrahl
Ven-Mah Tyrrahl was a male Jedi Master who served as the teacher of Lian Dray, Yeres Threem, and Cayli. Tyrrahl trained the students on Monfreen, a planet where he himself had earlier been trained as a Jedi. It was on this planet where Tyrrahl encountered the Citadel of Shadows, a dark side nexus. Years later, while instructing Lian Dray, Tyrrhal allowed Dray to enter the Citadel, as Dray claimed to be ready for the next challenge in his training. Dray proved to be wrong, however, and fell to the dark side.
Tyrrahl was known for using many proverbs and saying in his training, a habit that greatly annoyed Dray.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Ven-Mah Tyrrahl was created by author Paul Danner and appeared in the short story titled Light and Shadow, which was set during the time of the Great Sith War. Light and Shadow was originally slated to feature in one of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journals, but was never published therein. Thus, the characters (Ven-Mah Tyrrahl included), places, and events of Light and Shadow are not considered part of canon.
The story can now be found on the internet at the Star Wars Fanboy Association. Danner has had five other short stories published in various Star Wars Adventure Journals; One of a Kind, Small Favors, The Last Hand, No Disintegrations, Please, and Two for One.
