Adas's holocron

Template:Holocron infobox Adas's holocron was the original Sith holocron, made by King Adas around 27,700 BBY. He learned how to create the holocron from the Rakata who had come to conquer Korriban, and whom he had driven off.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

After its creation, Adas's holocron passed down through the years until, around the time of the Great Hyperspace War, Lord Garu lost the holocron on Ashas Ree. Centuries later a fallen Jedi found it, and used its dark knowledge to conquer Onderon.[1] It was eventually uncovered by Queen Amanoa of Onderon, who learned all its stored secrets. The holocron was then passed to her apprentice Novar, to teach Sith initiates. The Gatekeeper of Adas's holocron, however, had a unique personality that could turn down the user's request or even threaten its user. Amanoa and the Naddists were defeated, and Knights of the Jedi Order thereafter hid Adas's holocron in a geyser crater beneath the deep waters of the planet Kodai.[1]

In 39 BBY, Norval, a student of Coruscant university professor Murk Lundi, following instructions, retrieved Adas's holocron, which had been discovered and afterwards held briefly by his teacher before it was lost again in the depths of Kodai's seas, when the two Sith fanatics fought over it.[2] A decade later, in 29 BBY, Palpatine (alias Darth Sidious) secretly sent Carnor Jax's father, a Sun Guard of Thyrsus, to retrieve the holocron—which was now en route to Ploo II from Kodai, Norval having at last recovered the holocron by his own devices; Sidious killed the secret agent from Thyrsus when he failed to reclaim the ancient artifact.[1][2] Also pursuing Norval, however, were Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker, who were successful at last in reclaiming Adas's holocron from the fanatical Sith aspirant's possession; the ancient receptacle of forbidden knowledge was then taken to the Jedi Temple by order of the Jedi High Council, delivered to chief archivist Jocasta Nu, and secured in a safe within the Temple archive vaults.[2]

The Council, for reasons that remain unclear, later sent Adas's holocron to Jedi-affiliated House Pelagia's Holocron library.[3] The infamous artifact was subsequently stolen from the library by Sir Nevil Tritum of the Mecrosa Order during the Great Jedi Purge.[1] Following the Battle of Endor, the Mecrosa Order gave the Sith holocron to Lumiya. It is unknown whether the holocron was still in her possession when she died in 40 ABY.

That same year, Jedi historian Tionne Solusar incorrectly stated in her records that Norval found Adas's holocron in 29 BBY, instead of 39 BBY—a statement, however, which isn't wholly incorrect, as the Sith artifact, while initially uncovered on the earlier date, was not in fact physically recovered and retained by Norval until 29 BBY.[3]
