Belkadan was a planet at the edge of the Dalonbian sector, a world of tall dalloralla trees and small natural bodies of water.
History[edit | edit source]
Around 30,000 BBY during the Pre-Republic era, Belkadan was ruled by the Rakata which dominated much of the galaxy through their interstellar Infinite Empire. With the collapse of the Empire five thousand years later, the Rakatans retreated to their homeworld, leaving little trace as to how and why they left.[1]
Millennia later, the government on Belkadan was overthrown and replaced with a puppet government that was loyal to the Sith Empire.
In 25 ABY, Belkadan was the location of the outpost of ExGal-4, established by ExGal President Tobbert Dalonbian. The planet Belkadan was overrun by Praetorite Vong agent Yomin Carr, who had assumed the identity of an ExGal-4 scientist. The atmosphere of Belkadan was also altered due to a Yuuzhan Vong beetle that excreted excess amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur into the atmosphere. Although the beetles were small, they reproduced at a rapid pace that caused the atmospheric change to be rather drastic. After the destruction of ExGal-4,the Yuuzhan Vong bioweapon receded and the new Yuuzhan Vong fleet entering the galaxy built a shipyard there.
