This year was known as Year 1,003 after the Ruusan Reformation.

- 38:F1:1—New Year Fete Week.[1]
- 38:1:29—Imperial Advisor Bregius Golthan left Coruscant.[1]
- 38:1—Contraband of Galladinium Galactic Exports products increased in the Spirva sector.[1]
- 38:2:13—Premiere of The Kallea Cycle opera on Brentaal IV.[2] Jewel thief Tombat struck at an official Brentaal banquet few days earlier.[1]
- The Kallea Cycle began its tour of the Core Worlds.
- Han Solo encountered a bounty hunter during a mission to Ord Mantell.[3]
- Scientists rescued from Ralltiir built a planetary shield on Hoth.
- Echo Base was invaded and destroyed by Imperial forces.[4]
- Boba Fett collected Jabba Desilijic Tiure's bounty on Solo after delivering him encased in carbonite.[4]
- Luke Skywalker began Jedi training under Yoda on Dagobah, only to end it in order to rescue his friends. He promised Yoda he would return, then went to Cloud City on Bespin, where he lost a duel with Darth Vader.[4]
- The Empire annexed Cloud City, along with the rest of Bespin.[4]
- At the Rebel rendezvous point, Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, Leia Organa, C-3PO and R2-D2 began their year-long quest to save Solo from being held frozen in carbonite by Jabba Desilijic Tiure in Jabba's Palace on Tatooine.[4]
- The Rebels settled at the temporary base of Golrath Station on Golrath, but, several months later, were driven off by the Empire, due to the station's demolition by the Imperials.[5]
- After evacuating Golrath Station on Golrath, Haven Base on Arbra succeeded Echo Base on Hoth as the command center of the Rebel Alliance.[5]
- The second Death Star's construction was moved from its unknown origin to the Forest Moon of Endor.
- The Rebel Alliance violently, but secretly allowed by Palpatine, acquired the plans of the second Death Star.[4]
- The adventures of the Ewoks, take place on Endor.[6]
- Gaeriel Captison spent a year on Imperial Center doing postgraduate work on government.
- Skywalker and Organa restored Prince Denid to the throne of Velmor.
- Black Sun began to collapse.[7]
- The Empire brought an end to the Sepan Civil War.[8]
- The planet of Taris finally recovered from its devastation during the Jedi Civil War.
- The Pimbrellan League was founded.
- Rascal Squadron destroyed the Imperial Arah mining facility.
- The Star Dreadnought Terror was destroyed along with the TIE Phantom project at Imdaar Alpha by Rebel operatives.
- The Abridon refugee camp was razed.[9]
